  1.      This sequence of the finale of Rachmaninoff's 2nd Symphony
  2. was done with the Proteus 2 with the help of a Roland JV1080's
  3. Bass Clarinet program (there being too many instruments for
  4. the Proteus 2 to play them all).
  5.  
  6.      All transposing instruments are presented in concert pitch
  7. (i.e. all the transpositions have been made), even though the
  8. Proteus 2 does these automatically for the piccolo and basses
  9. (for some reason the glockenspiel is only tranposed up one
  10. octave instead of two).

  12.      Program changes within tracks: I've had to do a little
  13. of this to minimize the number of channels needed. There are
  14. notes at the beginning of the affected tracks, but not all
  15. sequencers can read them, so here they are:

  17.      Timpani track--uses Tremolo Strings program in bars 461-462
  18.  
  19.      Tremolo Strings track--uses the Pizzicato Violins program in
  20.      bars 102, 249-251, 290-292, 294-296 and the Pizzicato Basses
  21.      program in bars 232-237.

  23.     Also, to keep the number of channels used down the bowed and
  24. pizzicato strings share tracks. Look for program changes if
  25. you don't use a Proteus 2. In addition, the sharp-eyed among you
  26. will notice that the Tremolo Strings and the Glockenspiel share
  27. a channel. As noted above, there are also other programs in the
  28. Tremolo Strings track at times.
